Dermal fillers are among the most popular treatments in recent years. My application areas include lips, scars, cheeks, nasolabial folds, chin contour, and chin tip. I do not perform nose or glabellar fillers in my practice.

How are Dermal Filler Applications Performed?

Preparation Process

1. Examination: Your skin condition is assessed before the procedure.
2. Planning
3. Pre-treatment: The areas to be injected are cleaned.

Procedure

• Anesthesia: Typically, numbing creams are used before the procedure. Sometimes, nerve blocks are also performed for anesthesia.
• Injection: Very fine needles are used to inject the filler into specified points.

Recovery Process

• Swelling and Bruising: Redness at the injection sites usually resolves within the same day. Occasionally, bruising may occur at the injection sites, which should subside within a few days.
• Follow-ups: Check-ups are generally recommended about 2 weeks later, depending on the situation.

Post-Procedure Care

1. Sun Protection
2. Hygiene: Pay attention to the hygiene of the treated area on the day of the procedure.
3. Avoid hot environments, such as saunas and steam rooms, on the day of the procedure.

Results

You may notice more swelling than expected in the first one or two weeks. The final appearance typically becomes clear around the 2nd week. The duration of the effect varies significantly depending on the firmness, brand of the filler, and individual factors.
